Transatlantique

I was trying to capture a Parisian vibe with this outfit. While it did end up looking a little more country than I was hoping I am still happy with it. It made me think of the song "Transatlantique" by Beirut for whatever reason. What is this, the 300th time I've brought up Beirut in a blog post? Bless my vagabond soul.

Also, google friend connect will be gone soon! Oh no! And while I only have a measly following of under 200, I would hate to lose all of you! If you care, perhaps follow me on Bloglovin'?

Alright. Glad we got that settled.

Summer Bummer

Top-H&M 50000 years ago, Pants-American Apparel, Shoes and Bag-Urban Outfitters (the bag was only $5. what what, what, what...)
I know that everyone and their mom does these tropical borders nowadays (thanks tumblr) but I think they look pretty cool so I don't really care. It's funny because summer technically hasn't started but everyday I'm not at the beach I question myself. I absolutely love summer and the whole "typical California summer beach vibe", so summer is always something I really look forward to. I often catch myself thinking about where I will live after I graduate college; while a good part of me is convinced that I will be living in New York City, but there are those days when I'm sitting out on the beach with friends thinking but how could I leave this?

Happy Mother's Day to my favorite mom. Thanks for putting up with my rebellious attitude and clothing. This woman is the reason I am so into fashion. Who runs the world? GIRLS!

New Classic

Top- H&M, Skirt- American Apparel, Boots- Thrifted, Hat- Nordstrom, Earrings- Flashbacks, Sunglasses- Urban Outfitters
These photos were taken in Balboa Park in San Diego. Isn't the architecture just gorgeous? Seeing this type of style gets me really excited for Italy. The architecture is one of the main things I'm excited about for that trip. That, and the food.

Femininity

Pants- American Apparel, Shoes- Urban Outfitters, Tank- Zara

When I first bought these pants, I was a little unsure about them. Not because I felt uncomfortable in them or didn't like them, but because I was unsure as to how often I would end up wearing them. Well needless to say, I'm glad I kept them. Little did I know not only how many outfits I would be pairing them with, but also how confident and unexpectedly feminine they would make me feel. I even got a pair of low nude pointed toe pumps to wear with them, something I would have NEVER expected to happen (I've been anti-pumps for a while now). So expect to see more of these pants on my blog. I also hope to get a striped pair too.
Well done American Apparel.

As If!

Ok so prepare yourselves for a photo overload

Dress- Thrifted, Thigh high socks & boots- Urban Outfitters
So yeah, sorry for all the pictures. Actually not really considering this is my blog, therefore I can post whatever I want. My friend Emily took these pictures and I just think she's really talented. I'm not vain, I promise.
My friend Pranaya sent me this quote about short hair with me the other day and I wanted to share it. I've been obsessed with it not only because it's fantastic, but also because I feel that it relates to a lot of my feelings about wanting to change my style since cutting my hair.

"With short hair you begin to crave pearl necklaces, long earrings, and a variety of sunglasses. And you brush your teeth more often. Short hair removes obvious femininity and replaces it with style. When it starts growing out a little and losing its style, you have to wear sunglasses until you can get it to the hairdresser. That’s why you need a variety. Short hair makes you aware of subtraction as style. You can no longer wear puffed sleeves or ruffles; the neat is suddenly preferable to the fussy. You eye the tweezers instead of the blusher. What else can you take away? You can’t hide behind short hair… you may look a little androgynous, a little unfinished, a little bare… but your face is no longer a flat screen surrounded by a curtain: the world sees you in three dimensions."

And on a final note, IS THIS WILDFOX SWEATER A REAL THING?!
Their whole Clueless inspired line makes me want to cry. It's so perfect.
Also my birthday is in July......in case you were wondering....*cough cough*
