Someone teach me how to skateboard

Shorts- Wasteland, Tank- Urban Outfitters, Shawl thing- Forever 21 (I got it last year, don't worry!), Jesus Glasses- Ebay
Since I've started a blog, I've noticed a lot of people out there who desperately try to get a lot of followers. For example, I've gotten several messages saying things such as "I like your blog, follow me and I'll follow you back? Let me know if you like this idea!" Too me, that's really weird. I mean if that's your thing, then go for it I guess. But isn't fashion blogging just supposed to be about sharing your passion? Not about garnering a ton of followers, let alone making "following pacts". I mean, maybe I don't know what I'm talking about since I don't have a ton of followers myself. But to me it's not a problem. No one  could read my blog for all I care, because I'm doing this for myself and because I enjoy talking about fashion and sharing my style.
Recently I've joined Bloglovin'. I really like this website because 1. It's a lot easier to keep track of blogs I like and 2. When people follow you, it doesn't tell you who it is. It's nice to know people are actually following my blog because they enjoy it, not because they want me to check out their blog and get followers that way.

Also, I'm kind of dying over the new Tunnel Vision stock. If you don't know what Tunnel Vision is, click HERE immediately. You're missing out.
Here are some of my favorite pieces.

  4. I fucking love this! My favorite part is the shawl/kimono thing, even though it's from Forever. Blah. Still delicious with that black fringe. Also, that close up of your face with the sunglasses is so good. Favorite picture of you, evar.

Oh god.. I hate that shit. I always, always check the blogs of my commenters, sometimes commenting on some posts if I have a lot of time to spare, BUT WILL NEVER CHECK SOMEONE'S BLOG THAT PROMOTES IT LIKE CRAZY IN THE COMMENT. I don't mind the url at the end.. Pshh.. I used to do that, it's no big deal. What I don't like is when I include like 10 pretty photos + 2 paragraphs about street harassment and they write, 'cute shoes! xx i love your blog! check out mine, i know you'll love it, follow if you do and i'll follow back hehehe <3333 !!11' UGH. SO AWFUL.

    1. Thank you so much!! It's so bad, I have all this stuff from forever 21 from back in the day when I wasn't as exposed to the joys of thrifting. I just kind of look at it like "what was I doing with my life"...
And same with me. It doesn't bug me when they put the link, but when ALL they write is pretty much about their blog and how I should follow back, I almost kind of find it rude. It's like I'll get all excited that I got a comment only to find out the person really doesn't care at all about what I post.

  7. What's wrong with forever21? I don't see how it's any worse to buy something there, than from any other store, like urban outfitters for example. After paying my rent and my car payment and all my bills, I don't have much money to spend on fun things like shopping, going out to eat, traveling, going to shows, etc. so I buy most of my clothes from thrift stores (70% of my closet is from the Salvation Army and it's been that way since I was 16) or street vendors or discount stores, or sometimes forever21. I've found some cute things there, for example I might see a dress at urban outfitters and like it but not be able to afford it and then I might buy a similar dress at forever21. Perhaps the quality isn't as good but I haven't had anything fall apart. It just seems a bit snobby to me, to put down forever21 unless there's some good reason for it that I'm not aware of.
p.s. I accidentally came across this page while searching for beaded necklaces...I'm not a blogspot member. You are really gorgeous.

    1. Because they use child labor?!?! I'm sorry but I don't think there is anything "snobby" about not supporting child labor. I did a post before not that long ago on why I don't support forever 21 because of these reason, along with other lesser reasons. I vowed to stop shopping there because of this, so that is why I wrote that.
And trust me, I do not think I'm too good to shop there. Most of my clothes I get from thrifting and I have a hard time buying anything over $20.

  8. p.s. My comment wasn't directed at anyone in particular, I just noticed some comments as I skimmed the page that seemed to be disparaging towards forever21 so I was just responding to that. Perhaps I'm a bit sensitive :-P
