Teenage Riot

Shirt- Thrifted, Shorts- Thrifted, Swearer- Forever 21, Necklace- Flea Market

This is easily my favorite shirt I own. I found it at Wasteland last summer, and snatched it up like my life depended on it. It was already cut up, and it may be one of the most comfortable shirts I own.
Also, just take a moment to marvel in the glory of these earrings.
Amazing, right?! I couldn't believe something so perfect could have existed.

Now I'd like to talk about something that has been bugging me lately. I'm having a hard time understanding people's viewpoint on Gay Rights.
I'd like to start off by saying that I'm really into going to church and all that jazz. I love youth group and am going to a private Christian college. However, when I hear all this advocating against gay marriage it just confuses me.
Firstly, I do not see any factual reason why it should be outlawed. It's not hurting anyone. And if people really wanted to protect the sanctity of marriage, then wouldn't it make more sense to outlaw divorce? (Not that I think it should be outlawed in any way.)
But mainly, I do not understand why it would make sense to outlaw it because it goes against your beliefs. I, personally, do not believe in gay marriage because of my religion. That being said, I'm not going to get a gay marriage or advocate it. However, I do not believe that means that I have the right to take that away from someone. I feel that people often forget that we live in a country where church and state are separate, and people are free to practice or not to practice religion as they choose. Since not everyone shares the same religious beliefs as me, I believe that taking the right for a gay couple to be married imposes on their freedom of religion. I think that the morality of gay marriage should be determined individually.
And while polygamy may be a similar when it comes to freedom of religion, there could easily be abuse involved with the practice, so it makes more sense why that should be outlawed.
The freedom to practice religion is a beautiful aspect of this country, and I think it's important to protect it as much as possible. Please feel free to share your thoughts on this!

And now I leave you with a song by Cage the Elephant. Have a fantastic day!

Postcards from Italy

I was bored so I decided "hey, why not edit some photos!" ok yeah kind of lame.
Nothing really interesting has happened, except for prom preparations, which seem to keep going in the opposite direction of what I expected. Oh well. (I'm still mad about Nasty Gal canceling my dress.)

For a while, Postcards from Italy has been one of my favorite songs. No matter how many times I listen to it, it still retains the magic of the first time I did. It's such an amazing song, so if you've never listened to it please do.
Something about Beirut always makes me want to hop on a plane and go to Europe. Such an amazing band.
I would also say this music video is easily one of my favorites. Something about it just makes me appreciate life.
But yeah. Beirut is awesome. K cool.

Night Crawlers

At the moment, I am very frustrated. I found my perfect prom dress on Nasty Gal and ordered. Last night I found out they canceled the order for my dress. They didn't even bother to send an email or anything; the only way I found out was because my mom happened to check the order status. So now I'm stuck trying to find a dress at last minute. And not only that, but I've had other friends who tried to order from Nasty Gal and the same thing happened to them.
I should have listened to 3oh!3....Don't trust a ho....
But really, I'm never ordering from them again.

But For Now We Are Young

Cut off-long sleeve shirt- DIY, pants- Urban Outfitters, Shoes- Forever 21, Socks- Buffalo Exchange, Denim Jacket- Tunnel Vision
It might be hard to tell, but yes, my socks have Mary on them. My best friend got them for me, and got herself a pair of matching Jesus ones. I don't think I've every loved socks as much as I love these.

With all the hype of "Tanning Mom" and prom coming up for me, I thought I'd discuss my confusion behind tanning. I honestly do not understand the appeal behind it. Now don't get me wrong, I love going to the beach and laying out (partially because the ocean itself kind of freaks me out), but I don't go out of my way to tan. I really don't see how being tan really affects your appearance.
But what I don't understand most of all is spray tanning. Let's be honest, most of the time when people get a spray tan, the end up looking orange. I don't think I've ever seen a natural looking spray tan. And why would you pay money just to change the shade of your skin? I think its kind of funny how girls always insist on getting spray tans for dances. It doesn't make you look any better, I promise.
But I don't know, maybe its just me.

Nevermore

Shirt- Urban Outfitters, Shorts- Thrifted (Wasteland), Bag- Lucky Brand, Sandals- Urban Outfitters, Ankh Necklace- Flea Market in New Orleans
Sorry, not the most interesting outfit in the world. But it's rare that I get pictures with a cool background, so I thought I might as well put them up. These were taken at train station in New Orleans while I was on vacation over Spring Break.
Since I included a picture with my camera, I thought I'd add a few pictures I took on my trip.

My sister and I (so hawwtt, I know)
I currently have about 4 different outfit pictures sitting on my computer waiting to be edited, so hopefully I'll have those up soon.
As for now, I must go and read my Edgar Allan Poe book.
